This is BLOXX, an easy to use Title-Generator. Because it creates its own background, it is no ‘Title’ but a Generator…

After dragging it into your timeline, the Inspector shows the bells&whistles:



First section sets the virtual camera - Hight and Rotation are keyframe-able, so you can create animations.

Ambient allows to brighten/darken the scenery…

Then the title settings:
Floor and Text set the corresponding colors…

Be aware: sliders in FCPX are limited to ‘100’; to create a bigger font-sizes, type it or click’n drag into the number field.

Tracking allows to ‘tighten’ the characters, same with Line Spacing.
The text-block sits automatically on the floor, except when you add spaces or glyphs with descenders…

Some fonts work better, some less…just try!

well done. Just would include a Z scale publication to minimise the 3D effect but that's based on personal preferences

With 10.4 it is already built in, no need to publish. Take a good look at the Basic section of text adjustments section of the Inspector now.

with that argumentation why should we then publish at all ? ) prefer to have things in one place and window instead to think about where Apple defined to put parameters. But again a personal preference to ease workflow especially for new beginners who are not such familiar with fcpx

Because the built-in parameters can not be keyframed, and the same parameters published can.
