… there’s no DuoTone filter in FCPX?? Hard to believe.
Anyhow, now there is:
It does what it says - applies a DuoTone Filter, which is a bit different than just tinting the pic.
For those who are familiar with Photoshop etc, the published parameters are self-explanatory; if not, just try
Set Contrast for a clean White, and set Pivot for a clean Black.
I added an Unsharp-Mask-filter, in case you like to accomplish that fancy über-sharp look, you actually see in so many ads, as for example for Gold-Rush (interesting for movie-makers: try to catch one of the BTS episodes, superb executed 'reality'-TV with an incredible effort, just to record big boys playing in the dirt )
Very Good, Karsten! You have filled a gap with this filter. It seems works very well, plus it will be very useful in a job that I am planning. I thought to using some extreme grading, but this will simplify a lot of things to me.
Complimenti ... Luigi
Just another 'translation' of generic advice I found on several Photoshop/Pixelmator/Affinity websites into 'Motion lingo' - and this one was literally done in minutes … many tools from the pic-processors find their equivalents in Motion.
Puzzled, that not more of such translations fill our depository of plugins …
digging up on old thread here - I was in need of a Duotone effect for FCPX and came across this post a few days ago, successfully DL'd the zip and installed but..... I'm on my work Mac today, need the same plugin for an existing project but there no longer seems to be a DL link to the zip file in Karsten's original post?
