Big Sur and FCP 10.5 13 Nov 2020 18:28 #110825

Anybody else having problems with most Coremelp plugins on Big Sur and FCP 10.5?
They beachball the app.
Any ideas about updates?

Big Sur and FCP 10.5 14 Nov 2020 21:28 #110858

I upgraded the Mac mini last night to Big Sur and FCP 10.5 for testing, and am also getting this behavior on some plugins.

So far it's been an issue for me on everything in the C2 Chromatic package, Advanced Reflection in the C2 Gadgets.

I did have some luck with C2 Lock & load and was able to apply the stabilizer without issue. The plugins I've checked so far do appear to preview correctly when scrubbing, but I get the beach ball after applying the effect to a clip and have to force-quit FCP. It seems like they're not applying to the video stack properly.

Hopefully CoreMelt will get this sorted fairly quickly, but for now I'd keep your production machines on Catalina.

I can confirm the exact same behaviour. If Coremelt tested their plugins w Big Sur, as FCP.guru pointed out, it must have to do with FCP 10.5?

Yes, it is very clearly stated there. " We recommend you update to FCP X 10.4.10 before you update macOS."

Yep I was on 10.4.10 before I updated to macOS 11.0.1 and then to FCP 10.5.
We'll just have to wait for a fix :-)

Hi, so it seems Apple changed something last minute that broke our update. We are working on a fix right now, I hope we will have it very soon

Both FCP X 10.5 and Big Sur will be supported by the bug fix release (and also FCP X 10.4.10 on Big Sur)
