Rebel Colour Grading upgrade 26 Jul 2016 22:07 #78858
The FCPX Rebel Colour Grader suite has been upgraded. The Rebel CC (Colour Corrector) has been rehabbed, a bloom filter, a bit-depth enhancer and noise suppressor has been added.
The bit-depth filter help to smooth out nasty banding artifacts in your 8-bit footage, especially if you're going to aggressively colour grade. It works by doing a slight noise suppression and slight sharpen, filling in those gaps in the comb and smoothing those banding artifacts, rebuilding your images by interpolation in 32-bit! from this to this Expand bit-depth is available as a stand alone filter, and is also incorporated into the Rebel Colour Corrector. Rebel Bloom simulates the blooming highlights of film. Rebel Noise Suppression does a cheap and quick noise suppression using a blur and sharpen. You can tune it to effect overall or shadow areas (typically the more problem area). Because it's based on realtime effects, there is practially no render hit for using it. Try it. It might just be enough to save your bacon. The upgrade is available here: web.uvic.ca/~fsorvin/02-blog/fcpx_rebel_colour_grader2.html |
