You mention a back-time cut. Can you explain what type of cut this is?

Thanks.

Normally a clip edits into the timeline matching the In Point of the selection in the Browser to the playhead position in the Timeline when doing Overwrite and Replace edits.

Back-Time Overwrite matches the out point of the selection in the Browser to the playhead position in the Timeline, then back-times the clip when placing it into the Timeline. Overwrite is normally D, back-timed Overwrite is Shift-D.

Replace From End has no default keyboard shortcut and is done by drag-and-drop, and simply matches the Out Point of the selection in the Browser to the Out Point of the clip being overwritten in the Timeline.

Great stuff, reminds me of videos from Matthew Brown www.youtube.com/user/meheh#p/u/1/lN-eaIgiZKo which I first saw in 2011. Don't know what he is using to edit with?
