MacOS Mojave was released on Monday and one of its lesser publicised features is easier external GPU support. Michael P Schmidt burnt the midnight oil testing out an eGPU with Final Cut Pro X. Prepare for a performance boost! Administrator

Hi Peter,
I am running FCPX Trial 10.5 and the GPU option you are referring to does not exist. So either the trial version does not support an external GPU or my NVIDIA GTX 680 is not supported ? |

The post is from 2018, I think a lot has changed since then. Certainly Big Sur/10.5 won't support an external GPU
