Captions Recommendation and Plug In question

Long time - hope you are all well. 

Captionator - is an amazing subtitle plug in - for that "pick a few words out" and have a background behind them effect. 

I tried to grab it but I am running Catalina and it won't download for Catalina - which is a shame. 

I don't want to update my OS as I have lots of "software" and plugins that may not work after an OS upgrade - means finding new versions of the software which is a pain. 

Is there a way to do Captions without using Captionator or creating a title on top of a solid shape and cropping the shape for each word!!!

Added rep - I am not sure this does what I need. I need to make titles with backgrounds as captions rather than transcriptions.

If you're referring to this effect then it does what I described. Totally modifiable in FCP. Export as SRT file. Import SRT in FCP.

Transcriber was released today and is available through FXFactory. Interesting that it's available for both FCP and PremierePro. It's stand-alone but includes direct import into FCP as a project in an event.

Looks like I am going to need to upgrade my O?S finally Eeek... hassle = ( opens laptop - no software works )
