Audio won't enable in Motion 5

I imported a .wav file into Motion 5.

It was playing the audio but for some reason, now it's not. When I go into the audio window, both the track and the Master check boxes are unchecked.
When I check them they won't stay checked.

I also tried this with an aiff file just in case. Same thing.
Not sure what's going on. Always was able to use audio before.

Is this an independent audio clip, or audio that is part of a video clip?

Independent.

Just for the hell of it, I started a new file and in that one it's working.

Weird.

Well, I created a new file from scratch and it was working just fine.
Today I opened it and once again, now audio.

In the audio window, the audio file and the master are both unchecked. And when I check them, they immediately uncheck.

Actually, it's now everything!

All the visual elements don't show up. They are checked but there is no way to uncheck or re check them.
It appears as though I've been locked out of my own file.

Check the channel menu, to the left of Render and View, at the top right of the Canvas. Be sure it is set to Color.

If that's set, you have some weird issue I've never seen. Try holding both option and command keys at the same time, while launching Motion, delete preferences.

If that doesn't help, I'd get "FCS Remover" from Digital Rebellion (dot com, it's free), and use it to trash Motion totally. Be sure to UNCHECK "content" first. Then go to the App store and reinstall.

Well, this gets weirder.

For some reason it's all working now. I didn't do anything to make that happen.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll report back here if it happens again. And the color button is checked.
At least it is now.
