Creating gradient around irregular shaped object? 16 Sep 2023 08:32 #127153
Hi, I have an irregular shaped object. You can imagine being behind a guitar, your eyes looking down its neck. So you have wide bottom part of image, then tapering off towards center in direction of neck.
I can't figure out what combination of masks to use to accomplish what I am after. I need to soften the edges, make the video footage of this guitar blend nicely on top of the the main video footage. Is there a way to make FCP use masking similar to Photoshop masks and layers? thanks |

You might want to pull up the FCP User Guide and search for "Draw Mask". That may do what you'd like.
There are probably some good training videos around the 'net, as well. Maybe the best training is available at a reasonable cost from Ripple Training (no affiliation with them). |

Mmmh you may need a third party plugin to accomplish this, like the ones from Boris FX. BBC+Looks was free and had Mocha tracking built in
Coremelt also has such kind of plugins, but they are very expensive. Pablo Betancourt
