This forum is messed up, technically.

This forum software has always had issues, but it seems that they're getting worse and worse. Now it's wrapping the text by the letter instead of by the word and that can make reading posts a chore. Maybe it's time to get new forum software, preferably a different brand? vBulletin makes good forum software. It's DESPERATELY needed. Or maybe the forum software is attempting to imitate the state of Final Cut Pro itself?

Joe, I contacted Peter several days ago about this issue. I haven't heard a peep. I hope he's okay. I noticed the issue in mid to late July.

It might have something to do with a bad CSS "wrap" setting (???). I would tend to agree that the current forum SW leaves a lot to be desired. With the current "theme" I can't even see the little button/widget for sending/viewing DMs on the site (I had to remember where it was --- I noticed it one day when my cursor changed as I moved it on my profile page).

Is anything better than vBulletin, or comparable, that's also free? I've set up Discourse and phpBB forums before... There seems to be a few good alternatives, though I haven't tried to figure out what's in use here (it might be easy to determine, looking at the source of some pages... dunno).

I noticed the wrapping issue a few weeks ago but just assumed it was me messing things up!

Posted a message about the problem a few weeks back and it got flushed so evidently it's not a real concern to management. Wasn't always this way until a few weeks ago so maybe the cat slept on a button depressing it. Something definitely needs resetting.
