I can't get my keyframes to work all of a sudden!?

Hey all! I am new to the website and a fairly new FCPX user so please excuse me for my lack of terminology in this post but I will give it my best shot. For some odd reason my keyframes have just stopped working? I click the diamond as usual in the transform box around the position parameter like I always have been and it won't key frame the picture I am using or even show the lines and diamonds on the video box/inspector like it should be for no reason. I have tried to look up this problem to find a solution but no bueno! It has just stopped working apparently and I am seriously frustrated lol. Is there any easy workaround to this or am I just missing something obvious? I really need some help on this one so any would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

For transform you click the keyframe button at the start position and time. If this isn’t working try trashing your settings. Hold Opt-Cmd as you launch the application.
