Library Issue While Being Abroad was created by Yorgos Savoglou
I am working remotely during this period. Before moving away from my office I synced my desktop disk with my external disk (which I have with me), or that's what I thought I did.
I opened my library and I saw that I am missing my last version of my timeline. I have with me version 7 of my edit but my last edit was version 8.I can see my library through my NAS desktop drive (which has the 8th version) although my library is 200gb.
One way is to delete all the render files, the analysis etc. and then download the library from my NAS. The other way which I never tried is to download one or more files like the current version of my timeline and put it inside my Library.
Is there anyone who tried this or something similar and worked? Do you know how to do it?

On the remote machine, export a project XML of the version 8 timeline. ZIP that, then copy it to your local machine. Unzip and import it, that should load the current ver. 8 timeline on your local machine.
That said, there have been several XML errors in recent FCP versions. If you hit one of those, on the remote machine, go to /Movies/Final Cut Backups, get the most recent auto-backup of that library. It will not be very big. It should contain all edits and media references, but no cache, analysis files or actual media. ZIP that, copy it to the local machine, unzip and see if you can open it. If there are red clips, try relinking. If the ver. 8 project is there, verify it's OK.
If that works, you can copy that project to your main library one of two ways (this is all on the local machine):
(1) In the backup library you retrieved, open the project and select all clips on the timeline, copy, then in the main library create a new blank project and past all the clips in.
(2) Or: copy the project icon from backup library to main library. When doing cross-library copies, it's best to do that inside a "transfer event". Do not copy a bare project, multicam or compound clips between libraries. In the backup library, create a new blank event named "TransferEvent". Copy the ver. 8 project icon to that event. Then copy the TransferEvent to the main library.

In my local office I have only the NAS drive. I work on a laptop which I have with me. So I can go to my backup libraries in my laptop. I didn't thought it.
