Missing ampersand

Hi gang.
Does anybody know where the ampersand has gone in FCPX text? On my Mac keyboard it used to be shift/7 but it seems to have disappeared for some obscure reason.

I'm on an MBP 14" M1, FCP 10.6.6, Ventura 13.4.1 & it works just fine. I once thought I had some missing characters (like some of the keys quit working). Then I discovered that I had accidentally switched away from English to another of the language inputs I have used. &&&

If this is only happening in Final Cut Pro a cause could be that the Shift+7 combination has been custom allocated to something else. If you choose the menu item Final Cut Pro>Commands>Customize... you can list the current assigned keys by that column and see if anything has been given Shift+7
(In the image, I temporarily made a Shift+7 shortcut in the list just to show how it might show up)

If it really has disappeared through a glitch in FCP it might be worth deleting the preferences.
I do it whenever FCP starts behaving strangely for no apparent reason and it often works.
Try restarting your Mac as well.
