(Maybe I'm the only one)

Peter WE LOVE YOU for what you're doing, personally I would be nowhere with FCPX if it hadn't been for your wonderful website.

I can fully understand you've been hurt by this user but compare his hate with the admiration and gratefulness we others users have towards you, it won't reach 0.00000000001%

Please continue because we need you, and if you need to raise money or something I'm sure you will get some answers by launching a discussion here.

THANK YOU.
THANK YOU.

Just want to fully agree with Manoucho, Great Site and I really appreciate all the hard work I know you put into it.
Thank You!
Sometimes we who benefit, forget to give praise and thanks and take for granted what we receive and use. I often recommend this site and link to relevant articles on different forums like Apple's to help folks. Can't imagine what I'd do without this site.
Running any site is hard work, running a Great Site is vastly more work.
I think it is also important to say that you and this site have attracted many wonderful and loyal contributors here who are truly the top in the field. I have learned so much. I often reflect on the fact that this site is truly international and brings folks together from around the world, and many of them become friends. This would not happen without You!
f'k the Trolls!
Sorry you face unkindness and I think people should at least give credit when sharing.
Peace bro, Thanks again
Greg

Peter,

I am very sorry to read what has happened. For me fcp.co has indeed been the number one Final Cut resource on the net, so what you have been aiming for you have more than reached. Bullseye with all darts!
The community you have created around a tool we all use and learn to use is a very special one. We all know the places on the internet where people are ranting and complaining. But nearly never on fcp.co. And when sometimes when discussions run out of control, you manage to calm things down in a clear and polite way which can't be misunderstood. This makes it a very valuable place to go, because everything will remain centered around factual information and helping those who are seeking this information. I am a self taught editor and fcp.co has been a priceless source of information for me and for many many others.
I sincerely hope you will feel encouraged to continue your good work.

Thanks!

Even Though I just recently joined, I've been using this Website for quite a while and both the forum and the home page have helped me out multiple times, with tips for speeding up editing, resources I didn't know existed and information on how to solve editing problems.

Thanks!

I'm not sure what 'unkindness' Peter has experienced but I can say that as a new user of fcp.co I am deeply grateful for its existence and for the generosity of the people who visit and post here.

May your great work and website continue, Peter.

Kind thanks,
Shane

Please count me as another of the FCPX users who whole heartedly support you Peter. Being the subject of a troll attack is very upsetting. It's easy to say it's not about you but I know that doesn't take away the hurt or frustration. I'm truly sorry this has happened to you.

As for the online theives who take your work and pass it off as their own, this seems to be a fact of life online. I've seen this happen before and know how irritating this can be too.

The issue of the cost of this site is something I can help with and would happily do. If you decide to make this a subscription based site or would open a donations link I will support you.

For me FCP.CO has been a great help. Unlike some other sites I've always found this to be a positive, upbeat and helpful place to come to learn more about FCPX. The information you've compiled here has been and remains a very valuable source for me (and many others). Through your work you've created a place where we mere mortals can learn from and interact with industry pros like yourself and numerous others. This is a major contribution you've made and one that's highly valued.

Perhaps the best unsolicited advice I can offer you is a bit of pseudo-latin I picked up years ago: Illegitemus non carborundum est (don't let the bastards grind you down!). I hope you'll decide to continue your work on this site. Many thanks.

Ed

Thanks Peter,

This is my FCPX home online. Your site has been invaluable for so much of my FCPX education - and that's trickled directly into my income as an FCPX professional - that I'd be more than happy to contribute a donation or anything else that helps you keep this going - if that's what you wanted.

I am in total agreement with the overall general sentiment expressed here.

I visit this site multiple times each day in my quest to improve my knowledge and skills with FCP X. I also have supported many of the vendors who advertise on this site. I did so with the confidence that their ads here was an indication theses businesses are trusted sources. I hope they reward your efforts for being displayed here.

This site is an invaluable service and should not suffer due to the insulting behavior of a lone, troubled individual.

Peter, you can't let the extreme minority ever succeed in quashing your effort. You must also understand that no matter what you do, you will never please everyone. As indicated by this and other threads, what you offer is a valuable resource for many.

Never let a single bully goad you into believing that no one cares. This is obviously not the case.

Don't give in to the ravings of a troubled mind. It would do disservice to you and those you serve.

I suppose Peter probably likes to keep objectivity by not taking corporate money from Apple, but it seems to me that a bit of Apple's $ going Peter's way to keep FCP.CO online would be money well spent --- FCP.CO has turned so many frustrated FCPX users into happy customers by just having all this info and support available on one site.

Why are the views/actions of one idiot enough to grind everything to a halt? Come on Peter, you and this awesome site have way, way, way more fans than detractors. If you let this person get to you, they've basically won and achieved their objective.

FCP.co is a far superior site than Apple's own FCPX webpage, and over the last few years there have been so many wonderful posts and more importantly, the forums are very active, filled with great questions and great answers.

But FCP.co cannot remain static, it needs to change, it needs to adapt if it wants to remain relevant into 2016 and beyond. Sorry if I sound gloomy, I love this website and I want it to be the best, and that takes effort.

I do not have Facebook, not going back to that format of unsocial media, but we need to encourage debate as to how to improve FCP.co. As with FCP, hard decisions were made to junk the V1 V2 A1 A2 style in favor of the new Primary and Secondary Storylines, and even though the adjustment for some was painful, we are all better editors for having done so.

I did post a suggestion in the suggestion area, ok so what I have to say is not rainbows and dancing ponies, I say what I say as I want things here to be better, I do not accept this the best FCP.co can be...

Why not try and encourage collaboration across timezones, try and establish new contacts, in other words farm out work, who knows it might just work.. in the spirit of Apple Pro Dev, who took a mighty leap of faith, and took huge risks with FCPX, version 0.0.01 tanked badly, they carried on to finally roll out 10.2... Lets try and find work for those less fortunate but equally as talented, someone like myself...It might just work...

Again if I sound pessimistic, I apologize, I am a video editor, not a script writer!!

Let's not forget that we pay nothing to come here and that it is maintained by one person who put a lot of time, effort and money into it. As such we don't get to say what we think it should be - we get to be grateful to use it and to not put expectations on someone else's kindly given effort. What we can do is contribute to the forum - not in what we want or feel entitled to but what we can give and receive in a friendly manner. That's how I see it - and if people don't like how it's done (especially the person who harangued Peter in the first place) there is nothing to stop them setting up their own site elsewhere. As far as I'm concerned there's no place for criticism in something given freely.

I've run support sites, I've run user groups, I've run training centers, and I can tell you what Peter does is not for profit, it is an effort of love. It's all fun while folks are happy and things are working. But over time, issues come up, your users/members aren't cooperative (or even ugly to you), and you wonder why the hell you make the effort. I've been there first hand myself. This isn't something a collaborative effort around the globe can pull off. These sorts of things are personal and take one centralized effort to pull off. I have been in Peter's shoes more than once, and I would be 100% behind him if he got fed up and took the whole thing down for good. I hope he doesn't. But when you are doing these efforts of love, you sacrifice. I, like Peter, have sacrificed tons of time, money out of my own pocket, relationships, etc, to make things work. Sometimes, out of self preservation for your personal and/or professional life, you have to let them go. And if no one wants to pick up the torch and carry it, so be it.

The shear amount of time this site takes up, simply writing an article for the front page, most folks have no clue how much time and effort that alone takes away from your life and paying work. More than you can imagine. Respect the author, respect is space, respect his decisions, give the man the respect deserved, as is being done in this thread.

Point is, this isn't easy to do. And in Peter's position at present, it isn't easy to continue doing. I fully support him no matter what final decision he makes in the current situation. I would hope and ask that he continue this fine, noble effort. But I know it is totally his decision, his life that is effected to and extent and in ways none of us have a clue about.

One thing that isn't going to help, is telling him how to do his job or run his web site. It is his alone, he makes the decisions, and that, above all else, must be respected and honored. Suggestions are just that, and one would hope those suggestions are very well thought out before they are posted.

For Peter, give the space needed, respect the efforts made, respect any decisions one way or the other made, and hope for the future.
