Apple is pumping these out so fast, you'd think they were serious about this app, eh?

App Store > Update, you'll find it there. Here's the support notes explaining the bugs it fixes. My update took only 2 minutes flat.

I'm all for bug fixes but it's a shame it doesn't fix the super annoying timeline bug when zooming in and out throws the skim tool off :(

There are still a lot of things that need fixing, but if the updates keeping coming in at this pace, then it's enough to restore my faith in Apple.

OK I don't get it, I have 10.0.1 installed and when I go to the App store and try to download 10.0.2 it shows a 1.44GB download.

It did this with the last update, is this because I'm still on SL as I'm sure I read somewhere if you're using Lion you just get the update and not have to dl the whole program again?

Yes, this is only about a month after 10.0.1, it's very fast, faster than any other software gets updated. Thanks to Apple's commitment and the App Store system.

No, no single 2 decimal update will fix "everything", but at this pace you have no choice but to be respectful.

1.44 GB is not the size of the whole app, it's not that much to download. It's sizable for the few things they claim to be fixing, but Apple is well known to do more in these updates than they post. If I can get updates this quickly, I don't care how big the downloads are.

Only the App Store in Lion supports "delta updates" i.e. just things that change in an app. Therefore In Lion FCP X 10.0.2 update is under 200 MB.

Snow Leopard on the other hand will have to download the entire app, about 1.4 GB.

Looks like the space bar rolls bug is fixed (in event list view). Timeline zooming seems to be fixed also.

Also in the event browser in list view, the spacebar plays the clip without having to first click on the thumbnail.

It fixed the timeline bug for you? Weird. Are you on Lion? I tried downloading the delta update and then trashing the App and re-downloading it from scratch. I tried trashing the preferences already but when I think about it, it did remember my settings. I've only tested existing projects. Maybe only new projects are timeline bug free?

Maybe there are multiple timeline bugs. This is one where during playback zomming in and out would show the view and the end of the timeline, but the playhead would then appear elsewhere.

That's the one. You can hit the apple key and + to zoom in on the timeline and when you hit a certain level of zooming in it throws the play head back to the beginning and detaches it form the cursor as you skim. It's super annoying.

Hardware specs? How large of a project?

I'm trying to duplicate this on my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, and I'm not having any problems.

Thanks. Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15" short projects under 5 minutes. HDV 1080 50i timeline. I'll try playing around whenI get back in tonight but I'm fairly certain the bug was still present.

Just tested again, I am not seeing that in 10.0.2 in both Snow Leapord and Lion on a project I started yesterday in 10.0.1.

Now if I have skimming on it looks like the playhead is bouncing around but it is really the skimmer.

Try trashing your prefs.

Hey guys,

I'm abroad and will only be updating on Sunday but I'm curious. Apple says the update "Fixes an issue where a title may revert to the default font after restarting Final Cut Pro X". This was a very annoying issue, and I would love to have a hands-on verification that this bug really is solved so I can sleep better tonight ((-: Can someone test this for me?

Thank you.

Here's a quick screen capture of my timeline bug I just uploaded to my Dropbox. In the short clip you can see me move the cursor back and forth and skim the timeline. All good. Then I zoom in a level and the play head jumps to the start. Grrr. Zoom out and it's fine again.

Try this just to test an idea I have. Zoom in, hit S to turn off Skimming. Hit S after a second to turn it back on. Does it keep up with your mouse cursor now?

I haven't downloaded yet but will when I get back from the long weekend.
Question I have is: Is the automatic key framing [strike]back[/strike] fixed?

:woohoo:
