Can't Import footage with new Mac Pro--advice?

Was just in the field shooting with a c300. Dumped the cards to external Lacie drive using Shotput Pro, as usual. Checked the files through FCPX in the field with my Macbook Pro. All good.

Back at the office, with the brand new Mac Pro Tube, no dice. Can't import. Can't open the files.

Checked them with the Mac Book Pro--again, no problem. Reads theme/sees them no problem.

Runing OSX 10.9.1 and FCPX 10.1.1 on both machines.

Problem seems to be that FCPX won't see/import the C300 files with the new Mac Pro. It sees the drive, it seeks the folders, but the individual MXF files are gray.

I get "No Importable files. None of the selected files or folder can be imported. Change the selection and try again."

Thoughts? Advice? Help? Are there some back end plug ins for C300 I need to install on the tube?

Thanks!

The Canon XF plugin that Canon annoyingly put only on the CD that comes with the camera is what you may need. I'm not sure if they have changed that, but the last time I worked with c300 footage I had to install that first.

Good times..

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. But there's nothing there for me to download (at least for Mavericks). Just firmware updates for the C300 camera, which is of no help.

I think I found the plug in. You've got to select Mountain Lion as your OS and then the plug in is available to download.

I won't be able to check if it works until tomorrow but will let you know.

Weird. I would have thought x 10.1 would natively import mxf files without a plug in.

It's the camera companies way of not having to share their software secrets.

Don't fret. The ML plugin works fine with Mavericks.

Canon is a wee bit slow in releasing/updating their MXF plugins

Yes. Indeed it does.

Problem solved.

BTW, the new Mac Pro Tube seems terrific. FCPX opens in less than four seconds. That's fast.
