Most of my projects opened up after upgrading to 10.1, but not all of them.
How do I get old movies to open up so I can work on them?
Thanks very much in advance for your kind help!

Hey Eddie,
Can you give some more information? Do you mean that you cannot see certain Projects inside your Libraries or that you cannot open some exported movies in QT player?

Some of my movies only have clips associated with the movie, but not the project that I can open up.
Does that make sense?

Yes, it does. Did you create a new Library for each movie?
If so, inside each Library you see one or more Events. Your Projects are inside an Event, top of the Event list.
Depending on how you did the update process some Projects may have been placed in the wrong Libraries. You can open your Libraries one by one to see if you can find Projects that may have been misplaced. If you find the missing Projects you can just drag them from their current Library into the correct one in FCPX.

Hi Ronny,
Thanks very much for your input.
I'm a little confused about how this works, but I'll give your advise a try as soon as I get up tomorrow morning. I do hope that I can resurrect these movies...
Thank you!!

No sweat, Eddie.
When you update to 10.1 your old Projects and Events are put inside Libraries. Typically you would put all the Events (clips) and Projects (edits) for the same movie inside one and the same Library when you update. If incidentally you have added a Project tat belonged to Movie A to the Library of Movie B you can always move it back to the correct place after the update.
It is best to read a few things about how Libraries work before you update your work. This can help you get started: www.macprovideo.com/hub/final-cut/fcp-x-...-to-libraries-part-1
Have a good night!

Had the same problem with 10.1, but when I went to 10.1.1 all of those old projects now open property and don't crash anymore.
