Mavericks and FCPX?

Anyone take the leap to Mavericks yet? Any known bugs in FCPX? I have had some issues in the past jumping to the latest OS but Mountain Lion was a great transition. Just wondering if Mavericks is an easy transition? Any advice is appreciated.

I've been using 10.0.9 in developer release Mavericks, no issues what so ever.

I would strongly advise to NOT update mid-project, EVER.
I'm now downloading the public release of Mavericks, very excited.

Yes, Danito, it runs just fine.

Watched the entire presentation and sounds like there may be some performance improvements with Maverick because they say it will more effectively use both memory and processors.

Gabriel Spaulding wrote: "Check out FCP X in the Notification section of System Preferences." FCPX isn't showing up in the Mavericks Notification Center for me. I wonder why?

I don't recall seeing Final Cut Pro X in the Notification Center in any of the releases.

Danito

I am messing around with it now. I have not had any issues with project files or events. I also have noticed some increase in speed in timeline rendering.

Also fcpxImageExporter version 1.0.5 works fine as well.

Going from developer version to public release version is taking forever... I hate waiting for new toys... LOL

iMovie 10 has notification, so figured everything had it.

I know the right thing to do do is not to take the plunge immediately, but I have become a fiend of sorts. I have yet to update to Mavericks and I'm not sure if 24 hours have passed since the release. I feel like its been 24 days.

Please just keep this post updated as you run in to possible issues or non-issues with the most recent FCPX running on Mavericks.

Also: Has anyone actually exported and given a project yet? I'm interested in the complete workflow to be kosher.

I have been working with the developer version as well. During the many tests on different systems I only had an intermittent issue (red colored flash frames) with Mavs + FCPX 10.0.9 on a very specific system (low-level Mini). I have reported this to Apple one month ago. Re-installing FCPX solved the problem. No issues with other machines I have tested.

Updating seems safe, just don't do it mid-project and be aware of third-party plugins. Check with every manufacturer if they have updated drivers.

So, could you define "Mid Project"? I am in the process of importing LOTS of clips from a three camera shoot over the weekend. Once I am finished importing and trans coding...would it be safe to go to Mavericks before I start doing any real editing?
Thanks!

If you are only importing and transcoding you should not have any problems upgrading your OS before starting to edit.

My buddy upgraded to Mavericks yesterday. After upgrading he queued 3 videos to render overnight and left FCP X rendering in the background. It turns out that Mavericks has a new setting 'App Nap' that suspends background rendering. He posted a video that addresses how to fix this:

Hope it helps someone!
