I got node structure template from MotionVFX it gave me a folder with

Font/Futura.ttc
Project_711_lower3rd/Project_711_lower3rd.moti
Project_711_project/Project_711_Project.motn
Project_711_Title/Project_711_Title.moti
Project_711_Transition/Project_711_Transition.motr

It didn't give instruction on where to put in Motion Templates?

I am leaving on cruise this coming Saturday and it would be GRATEFUL if someone point me out where to put these before I leave on cruise so I can make awesome daily vlog with this template!!

Thank you and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I have used many Motion VFX templates and the only way I know how to use them is to keep them in a folder on my desktop and when I am ready to use either the "title" or the "project" which the project is the main template.....I just go into that folder and double click "project" and it will open with Motion and then you can customize. Hope this helped. I'm sure there is a different way but this is the only way I know

Of course I am in no way saying this is the right way (i am sure it isn't). But with my limited knowledge I have become a master at "If it works do it" video editing. :)

Mmm thanks for the tip--I want it to be able to customize in FCPX cuz I'm rookie with Motion LOL not enough time to learn it as I'm leaving on Saturday for one week.

Do you know which folder I should use (Look at the first part of their Demo intro) The first intro and add my videos in it?

Thanks

The only way to turn this into a FCPX template is to:

1.) Double click project/project file (it will open in motion as these are motion files)

2.) you will have to export the template from motion to a FCPX template.

3.) watch the tutorial below for how to do step 2 B)

trust me, i am a rookie with motion as well. This site has helped me walk through a lot.....or ALL of my learning curve. Once motion is opened with the project that you double clicked, follow the steps to export as a fcpx template. This is the only way I know how to do what you are asking. Maybe someone else who sees this can add some words of wisdom...?

But these files will not open directly with fcpx. I thought the same and had to email the site manager Symon and he walked me through the process that I have showed you above. The are motion files designed for motion with possible export to FCPX. Enjoy your vacation, I'm going on my cruise on Jan 31 and i am pumped about it! :cheer:

Thank you for your hep!! 2 question....I download this free one www.motionvfx.com/store,free_motion_project_008,p846.html it looks good. But when open it in motion 5.0.5 it does not do the exact same as what I see on their preview? Also When I create and add to FCPX how do I remove the theme I create from motion?

What do you mean by theme.? I watched the link....it is the japan one. Doing what you need to do in motion can be simple as this is where I have done mine and I am not very good with motion. As far as the japan theme template, I don't think that there is much to customize besides the text. Tell me exactly what you are looking to change about the template.

Sorry for saying it wrong way. It's template. Ok see the preview it looks good and the red things around the circle blinks, right? In motion it doesn't blink or does good shake effect? Am I missing something?

Sometimes in motion depending on the RAM of your computer it won't appear to be the same as the preview. In the past , if it was a longer template, I had to export it and then upon playback it played normal due to my small computer. What I would do if I was you is open it in motion, move the play head to the text scene, double click the text and change it to what you want. When you are done export as a quicktime movie and then import to fcpx. When I came to the point that you are at I had to learn a little Motion. I know that doesn't help in a pinch but....

I'm downloading the same template to mess with a bit to see if I can assist you with this but the download may take a while.

yeah Motion VFX has some other good free ones but sometimes it's worth the 50 bucks if you find one you like and don't know Motion yet. I am trying to learn Motion while trying to learn proper video shooting and editing. It is journey for sure. I wish you the best and hope you have a good cruise.

Those four files get installed specifically in these locations:
Put the .moti files (both the lower third and the title) into your MOVIES/MOTION TEMPLATES/TITLES folder;
Put the .motr file (the transition) into MOVIES/MOTION TEMPLATES/TRANSITIONS folder;
Put the .motn (the generator) into MOVIES/MOTION TEMPLATES/GENERATORS folder.
Open your applications folder and run the app "FONT BOOK". When it launches, select from the menu to ADD FONTS and point to where you've downloaded the Futura.ttc font. This will install it into your system fonts.
Then restart FCPX and you will find the projects, transitions and titles in their respective sections within the Effects/Transition and Generator browser in the FCPX application.
