How did he make this video?
It really looks like lego.
He hasn´t film, right?
He has taken a lot of pictures, and speed it up.
But how did he make this so damn crisp and sharp?
And how does this look so... not real?
If they have used the 2x extender, you have to be an expert to see any defects the 2x extender gives footages.

A plugin is definitely the cheaper way to achieve this look, though the sharp clarity you observe in this piece is probably the result of an expensive lens .
Though I'm not certain Tilt Shift has reached the level of ire the angry mob have for lens flares & light leaks yet, for me personally, I think Tilt Shift is a bit overused & will probably begin to fall out of its lofty en vogue status.
That being said, it appears to be he perfect location to use it in the little film you've shared. Thank you. Again we see the vital importance of the soundtrack, as the masterful musical track adds to the sense of playful children's toys. Especially the beginning where we have what I would describe as light or whimsical. (there's that word again)
The music frames the visuals in the toylike context, helping us to feel the director's intent. Not until we come inside the terminal does he add the steady beat, bringing us a sense of mechanicanized order to the flow of people.
The smoothness you observe appears to be about a 2 times speed ramp. It's hard to be certain, he probably varies it in some sections. I'm just going by the usual walking speed.
My favorite section is the little blue busses that line up like toys, then go their separate ways. It definitely reminds one of a child playing with toy cars following the patterns on the carpet.

Will look into all of the tips and plugin.
I wonder why this video didn´t get the Staff Pick.
How can a tilt shift make this look? Why can´t I just buy a Canon L lens and shoot? That´ll give me a sharp look, won´t it?
What is the technique behind a tilt shit?
Have been reading some article, and the DOF is mentioned a lot. A f1.4 lens give me this effect. Why can´t this lens alone give me this miniature effect?

This film shows that it´s possible to achieve the tilt shift effect with zoom lenses. Tamron and Sigma lenses. I´m impressed!

However, I preferred the first one you shared to this latest. For me the music is better & it's not too long. Here he has some great shots at the beginning with the chopper, boats & sand pit, but way too much traffic. Around 3 minutes I was tuning out. But hey, let's throw some more awards at it.
This one looks like it was done with software as the tilt-shifting doesn't seem as pure & clean as the previous. Some of shots look great, but some not so much.

And it wasn´t to long either.
The director of the second video, said I shoot in crop mode. What is crop mode, in is it important to achieve miniature look?

The tilt-shift effect was done in post (you can see certain tall objects like lampposts are in focus at the base, but then go out of focus at the top - if the focus was done using a lens then the object would remain in focus across the whole of its height).

You send me the article in my inbox. When trying this, I will probably start with your article. And if that takes to much time, I will move to an effect. And If I´m not satisfied with the effect, I might save some money for a lens. Haven´t decided.

That´s... far from here.
What are you doing in Uganda?

You have the link right there, why PM it? I'm confused.
Doing it manually is really super easy, pretty fast.
