Edgar Rothermich's graphically enhanced manuals for Final Cut Pro X and Compressor have been hugely successful. He's now published a Motion5 manual that uses his graphic way of illustrating how an app works.
Edgar's books have to be some of the most successful ones published on FCPX and Compressor. His unique style of displaying information with an easy to understand graphic layout has proved to be hugely popular with his previous books.
Now he's turned his attention to Motion which is a pretty good candidate for an illustrated guide seeing as many of the operational concepts within are spatially based, 3D camera work being a good example.
Motion - 5 How it Works is a 147 page PDF download that retails for $6.99. Edgar has already informed us that a hard copy version will be available from Amazon shortly.
"What are Graphically Enhanced Manuals (GEM)? They're a new type of manual with a visual approach that helps you UNDERSTAND a program, not just LEARN it. No need to read through 500 of pages of dry text explanations. Rich graphics and diagrams help you to get that "aha" effect and make it easy to comprehend difficult concepts. The Graphically Enhanced Manuals help you master a program much faster with a much deeper understanding of concepts, features and workflows in a very intuitive way that is easy to understand."
We couldn't agree more and as we have said before, a picture is worth a thousand words, so here are a few pages from the book.
