In this episode, Jenn Jager looks at bringing a still image to life in Apple Motion.
Well, we were going to call Jenn 'The doyenne of Apple Motion' - but she beat us to it by calling herself the 'The Queen Apple Motion' which is probably about correct looking at the amount of tutorials she's producing.
In this new episode, she shows us how to animate a still photo into something a lot more interesting using Motion.
The 'Kid Stays in the Picture" effect got its made from the 2002 film about film producer Robert Evans life story. The first 20 minutes of the film is made up of black and white animating photos. Apparently they had a whole room of After Effect artists working away for months to complete the sequence.
Since then, we have seen the effect used in many documentaries, although these days it needs to be done well and fairly subtly otherwise it now looks a bit cheesy.
