We have all had that red 'T" onscreen at some point in Final Cut Pro. Here's a quick and easy fix.
First of all, chapeau to Anatoliy Kotlinsky over on the Facebook Motion page for posting this free app. It allows users to load Motion plugins and templates on earlier versions of Final Cut Pro - FCPX even! I think we must have had our heads in the middle of the site redesign at the end of last year.
We have had quite a few questions on our Forum about this problem and hopefully this might be the quick fix people are looking for.
pFixer is a free app that will take a Motion project and 'backdate' it to be compatible. Motion files are just text files and this app does a clever bit of search and replace.
If you want to know more, Fox Mahoney has written an excellent article on the problem and published a chart of which Motion version of plugins works with the right version of Final Cut Pro.
