For the next four weeks, every Friday, Luma Touch and FiLMiC are hosting an online seminar aimed at those who want to know more about mobile filmmaking. The first one is on 17 April.

For a long time here at FCP.co we have seen the growing  interest in video creation on iOS platforms. So under these difficult times, it's no surprise we are seeing a noticeable surge in their use.

Now Luma Touch and FiLMiC have got together to organise a series of free online learning events : The Mobile Creator Summit.

'Beginning on Friday, April 17, 2020 - and continuing every Friday for several weeks - the Mobile Creator Summit will be streamed live simultaneously to the FiLMiC and Luma Touch Facebook pages, YouTube channels and websites, and will feature a number of mobile content creation learning tracks led by well-known filmmakers, mobile journalists and trainers, YouTube influencers and professional content creators.'

It looks like they've got some good speakers lined up already.

'The premiere Mobile Creator Summit on Friday, April 17 will be hosted by mobile journalism industry expert, Glen Mulcahy, and will feature presentations from celebrity YouTubers Justine Ezarik (iJustine) and Cielo de la Paz, influential mobile filmmaker and trainer Cassius Rayner, and filmmaker/cinematographer Richard Lackey.'

We also know PhotoJoseph is presenting; he's worth tuning in for on his own!

The Summits will start with two topic-centric sessions consisting of four presenters, each with their own 20 minute session followed by a 10 minute Q&A session. Additionally, each day will culminate in panel discussion among the presenters.

Seminars start at 10 PDT, 1300 EST and 1800 BST.

How many weeks the summits will run for, we don't know as none of us can second guess how long this situation might last. There are four scheduled at the moment, ending Friday 8th of May.

What we do know though is that a lot of people are at home at the moment and this series of free seminars seems an ideal opportunity to catch up with the leading trends and techniques in mobile filmmaking, journalism and storytelling.
