The 2018 FCPX Creative Summit is nearly upon us, FMC has just announced the keynote speaker for the event. With over 5 million subscribers on YouTube and more on other social media channels, Justine Ezarik AKA iJustine will be starting the event off.

Katherine Houghton, Apple Certified Instructor

Katherine Houghton has been teaching over 15 years and is certified instructor for Apple and Adobe. She is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology with degrees in Graphic Design and Industrial Design. She has held multimedia, graphic design, and consulting positions at numerous companies including KPMG LLP, one of the big five Accounting Consulting Firms where she managed the Multimedia Department.

During the ".com" boom of the 90s she was promoted to Vice President of Confidant Inc. where she managed the entire look of all visual materials including the marketing and Internet presence. She continues to work on print, web and video solutions for numerous clients. Her software expertise includes: Acrobat, After Effects, Animate, Final Cut X, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom,Premiere Pro, as well as others.

Geoffrey Orthwein, Editor • Writer • Director 

Geoffrey Orthwein is an independent filmmaker whose work has been shown in theaters, museums, and broadcast television. In 2017 he co-directed the feature film Bokeh, starring Maika Monroe and Matt O’Leary, which he edited in Final Cut Pro X.

The film was sold to Screen Media Films, which distributed it in theaters and on iTunes, Amazon Prime, and Netflix, where it is available today.

Geoffrey started as an editor and colorist working on the film Ocean Odyssey, a mutli-screen installation wrapping 270º around the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC. He went on to do live production and commercial work for companies including Google, Salesforce, The Walt Disney Company, T-Mobile and Virgin. Today he continues to work in independent films, commercials and video games.

Cirina Catania, Founder/Lead Creative at The Catania Group and partner, Lumberjack System, is a member of the PGA, WGA, and IATSE-Local 600.

She has worked as a writer, director, supervising producer, cinematographer, post-producer, or marketing exec on over 130 film, television and new media projects for the big screen as well as for networks such as National Geographic, Discovery, etc.

She is one of the co-founders and former director of the Sundance Film Festival and former Vice President of Worldwide Marketing at MGM-UA and United Artists. Cirina is based in San Diego, D.C. and Berlin when she is not on the road filming in the Amazon or other exotic locations. She is very proud of the fact that she has not yet contracted malaria and that after all these years, she still loves her job!
