I have the feeling the next one is going to cost something... which I don't hope!

Just recap I like to see in the next update.
Not going to add the announced features from Apple.

I just don't see it. There's no facility for upgrade pricing in the appStore, so unless they're going to make us drop another $299, it will be free. We're not into pay features yet from my perspective. When they get in all Alex's project sharing functionality, auto-transcription, face detection bla, bla, bla... THEN we'll see a paid update. |

I'm really REALLY hoping for copy/paste attributes. It would speed up my workflow tremendously. Also, I'd like to see export a selected input/output range in the timeline and a continuously scrolling timeline indicator during playback. Crossing my fingers!

Nice short article by Richard Taylor.
I agree with his top priorities. In fact I'd trade up all of Apple's pre-announced features except for multi-channel audio for the things on his list. Way more important to my workflow at this stage. fcpx.tv/Pages/update.html |

I too vote for scrolling timeline with playhead & copy paste attributes. Sorry it's not brilliantly original (I know you expect that from me).
![]() Richard Taylor's list is good too. |

I think it's in the morning Pacific time. I remember 10.0.3 dropping mid-morning here in Toronto.

the more i cut with fcpx the more i wish i could toggle the magnetic time line on or off. It can very very useful, but also a complete curse. And the Position tool is no substitute.
for this app to move on professionally, apple need to let user have control of this function. i know so many pros that have been instantly put off because they find the magnetic timeline a chore. I love the program, but there are many times i have to agree. so for the update I'd like a nice FAT button that switches it off when i don't need it. |

How do you want the timeline to act when out of the magnetic mode?
The position tool are does this job, I guess they could call it Magentic on/off and but it next to the skimmer button. |

Have to agree with Scrubs on this one. The Position tool, shortcut is "P" (duh) is in fact how things work with the magnetic functions turned off. I'd guess we'll see some neat stuff in an update one day soon. Not sure what we will see exactly, but I've not been disappointed yet with the feature updates nor with the bug updates. Writing programming code is a slow process. You can only tackle a few things at a time. And every three months average is unbelievably fast. |

Don't start on me, man!
![]() Anyway, we'll get an update when we get it. I have too much paying work in the mean time. But speculation can be fun on occasion. And the update tab of the App Store in ML takes way too long to list things... ugh... And for the record, Scrubelicious is almost always wrong... ![]() Where's my coffee? |
