Looks like this will be handy, a free webinar about managing media inside and outside FCP. The webinar starts at 10:00 PST 10th March 2011 and runs for an hour and a half. Sorry about the short notice, but if they would have emailed us we could have posted this a while ago.

A very popular effect explained here by Wes James. Take a video, freeze the action and then highlight a section in Final Cut Pro after cutting the guy out in Photoshop.

This time Rick covers scratch disks, isolating a colour and that old problem of losing your image because you've gone into wireframe mode. yeup we've all been confused by that one once.

7_hours_of_tutorials

I feel a bit of a theme coming on here. 'Tutorial Tuesday' ok, maybe not, but we do have tutorials stacked up like planes coming in to land at Heathrow on a friday night. First up is Izzy with his amazing 7 hour collection.

There are lots of tutorials out there on YouTube but a lot seem to go over the same stuff. So it is nice when you come across original content, well presented and with links. Wes James has posted this rather cool playing card flip tutorial with video on the back. Links to the media after the break. (Oh for high quality YouTube poster frames!)

We love FCP, but there are times when you will have to go to another NLE. Not something that we like to contemplate too much but its fact. We've recently seen the bridging to Avid, but how does FCP work with Premiere Pro? More after the break.

In the latest video, Rick tackles dealing with a multitude of codecs and outputting to any format you want; selectively exporting from the Final Cut Pro Timeline; effective media management; how to clone a hard drive and protect yourself again disaster.

In this tip Apple Certified Master Trainer Simon Walker shows you how to improve up your workflow by compositing elements in a virtual 3D space with reflections and glow elements, without leaving the Final Cut timeline. He emailed us saying "Why don't you show some of my tutorials". So we are.

It's always great to see new talent publishing Final Cut Pro Tutorials, so give a big hand to Wes James with his Diagonal Split Screen tutorial. Some good advice on dealing with PSD files and mattes. After the break there's also a link to his downloadable matte!

FxFactory from Noise Industries keeps on growing its set of FCP & Motion plugins. This is a good one, a zoom transition with a twist. (I don't know why but I want to say that in the accent of Serge from Beverly Hills Cop)

larry_jordan_fcp_tutorial

FCP guru Larry Jordan has been busy again. He's created 68 new micro-tutorials. Each runs less than four minutes, so you can quickly get the answers you need to your common Final Cut questions. These are the results of a recent Webinar he hosted, chopped down into nice bite size chunks. A few hand-picked ones after the break.

Noah Kadner is a prominent guy in the FCP community and  has a wicked sense of humour. The videos for his HD Survival Guide for FCP are now on sale. Find out more after the break.

Heart_FCP

Today we spotted an editor on Twitter complaining that there wasn't a heart wipe built into FCP. The good news is that there is one, hard to find, but there is one. If you really have to use one find out where it lives after the break.
