FCPX Watchtower of Turkey

We are very pleased to publish the story of how the wonderful short film 'Watchtower of Turkey' was made. Nominated as Best Video of 2014 on Vimeo, Final Cut Pro X provided all the tools for Leonardo Dalessandri to produce a spectacular and inspirational piece of work.

2014 FCPX user stories 2

As promised, we return with the second part of our look back at the Final Cut Pro X user stories of 2014. It all got very interesting, very tekkie and very, very creative.

2014 FCPX user stories

We take a look back at the Final Cut Pro X user stories we posted during 2014 on FCP.co. The year started early with 10.1 and the new Mac Pro, high profile jobs and announcements over the Summer and finished off with some very creative examples of FCPX in action at the end. Enjoy a jolly good read, we did!

Mark Spencer is a busy guy. Not only does he produce tutorials, appear on MacBreak Studio and write plugins for FCPX, he also edits! In this article he tells us how on a recent job he used a multicam workflow and Final Cut Pro X to get a conference post produced in minimum time.

What happens when you put Final Cut Pro X in the hands of a respected Director/Editor who has grown up with flat bed editors, in-camera effects and classic animation techniques, who has worked with Lightworks, Avid, classic FCP, Shake and Flame and who says (quote) he is “too lazy” to read manuals and to always learn the newest software?

FCPX rhythms of life

A production in Australia used Final Cut Pro X to edit films for multiple screens in a live performance. Video, music, dancers and over 60 live cues in the show - how was it done?

EO

One of the first and an example that many other broadcasters will be watching closely. Dutch national broadcaster EO has integrated the digital asset manager Cantemo Portal with Final Cut Pro X.

OSX Yosemite update 10 10 1

It might look like a few bug fixes, but an OS X update is still an update. Have they fixed the Wifi issues we wonder?

lacpug new projector 2

We have mentioned this worthy project before as you can see from the article below. However Michael Horton from the LACPUG has sent us some more information about their goal to fund and install their new projector.

youtube copyright music

You would have thought that using any of the free Apple media such as music loops supplied with the Pro Applications, wouldn't raise any copyright issues. Wrong. A cautionary tale from Alex Snelling and a drumbeat that YouTube didn't like.

A great FCPX user story from Thomas Grove Carter. This time he shows us how the new Honda commercial got the diptych treatment in Final Cut Pro X.

A wonderful short film from Chris Mckechnie about a boy wanting to become a park ranger for a day at Yosemite. Shot on 2 RED Epics (one of them mounted on a Movi) and all edited in Final Cut Pro X.

Twenty five minutes of advice from Zack Arnold that could literally save your life. You also get to find out what a burpee is. (No, we hadn't a clue either.)
